An art museum proud to feature Japan’s finest garden, recognized by the world.
This art museum focuses on Japanese painting and ceramics, featuring a collection of works by Taikan Yokoyama, and is also renowned for having Japan’s finest garden.
The expansive 50,000-tsubo Japanese garden is meticulously maintained under the belief that “a garden is also a form of painting.” Various styles such as karesansui (dry landscape) and hakusaseishō (white sand and green pine) gardens display their beauty throughout the four seasons.
The garden has been consecutively ranked as the best in Japan by a leading American magazine specializing in Japanese gardens. It is also the only site in the San’in region to receive the highest rating of three stars in the French travel guide Michelin Green Guide Japan.
Opened in 1970, the museum houses a captivating collection of modern Japanese paintings, including works by Yokoyama Taikan, Takeuchi Seihō, and Hashimoto Kansetsu, all collected by Zenko Adachi, a businessman from Yasugi. It also features contemporary Japanese paintings, ceramics, children’s illustrations, lacquerware, and wood carvings. Among these, the collection of 120 works by Yokoyama Taikan is especially renowned, considered the finest in both quality and quantity in Japan.
On April 1, 2020, to commemorate the museum’s 50th anniversary, the Rosanjin Hall was newly opened.

A mysterious sight reminiscent of a fantasy world It is a scenic spot that is also designated as a natural monument in the country. After passing through a cave from the Kokufu Bathing Beach, a vast, flat rocky area like the Tokyo Dome called "Sengami Shiki" is in front of you.
If you look in the direction of Shiroyama from the town of Shinzuwano, where the Senbon Torii of Akumaki is beautiful, you can see the approach of Shiroyama, where the Torii of Akumaki are tightly lined with Torii. After climbing the tunnel of about 1,000 Torii about 300m, you can see the approach to the road.
