
IWAMIGINZAN AREA SIGHTSEEING SPOTS
Surrounded by nature, "Ishigami Ginzan" is a popular spot as a World Heritage Site. The townscape is full of nostalgic atmosphere, and there are many photo spots.
The Oki area, where you can experience the charm of the UNESCO World Geopark. There are many attractions to see, such as Kunigakashore, Lussuk Island, Yaosusugi and Mudasugi, and Tantogaki Falls. There are also lucky and curly power spots and cute cafe spots, which are essential for women's travel.
SPOT - 01
Kukaga Coast
"Kunigakaigan" is a scenic spot representing Oki. The escarpment, which rises 300 meters above sea level, and the majestic view of the Sea of Japan overwhelms anything to see. In contrast, on the hills cattle and horses graze, and an idyllic landscape expands. In addition, there is also a regular sightseeing boat where you can go around the country, so it is recommended to view from the sea. In addition to the sky cliffs, there are also attractions such as Onigajo, Otohime Goten, and Tsutenbashi, and when the waves are calm, we put them in a cave called "Iwaya of the light and dark".
Recently discovered, "Rizumo Rock" and "Nurikabe Rock" are also highlights.
Eroded by the waves of the sometimes wild Sea of Japan, the quay gives a sense of the majesty and power of Oki's nature.

SPOT - 02
The Red Cliff (Sekiheki)
As the name suggests, the area spread over "Akahage Mountain" in the village of Chio is characterized by a red formation. As you climb a loose slope, a cliff appears that looks like it was eventually scratched off by a giant cutlery. This is called "red wall", and the formation of various colors is revealed. It is so powerful that when you look into it, your legs will shave.
The view from here is also great, overwhelmed by the Sea of Japan in front of you and the sky everywhere.

Candle island
As the setting sun falls on the top of a 20m-high rock, it's called "The Island of the Laws," as it looks like a light on a candle.
Like the sunset on Lake Shinji, it is a popular evening view spot. It is exactly a work of art created by nature. It is also recommended to watch the sunset from the sea on board the "Lawsook Island Tour Boat".

Iwakura's breast cedar
In the mountains of the Fuse district, "mama cedar" is an 800-year-old old cedar with a tree height of 30m and a trunk circumference of 11.4m at chest height. A distinctive feature is the breast-shaped pituitary, which hangs over dozens of pieces. The largest is 2.6m in length and 2.3m in circumference.
Because of its mysterious figure, it is also called the "god of breast milk" and the "god of female happiness."

Susadama Wakasumei Shrine
The venerable old shrine, Tamawaka Senzumei Shrine, is the oldest in Oki, built in the architectural style of Oki-zukuri; the precinct is home to a huge "Yaosugi", which is estimated to be 2,000 years old, and feels the depth of history.
Every year on June 5, a unique ritual transmitted to this place called "Gorei-kai Fuyu" is officiated. It is a brave festival where kamma from all parts of the island gather and run up the approach to the road led by several men. The area around the shrine is crowded with people who tour the rituals, and people who gather for a lot of store openings.

SPOT - 06
Oki's bull
"Ushitsuki", which has been handed down to Oki since ancient times. It is said to have begun to comfort Emperor Go Toba, who was exiled to Oki during the Jokuyu War (1221), and is now held regularly for sightseeing at the Oki Mo Mode Room, three times a year a "cow-butt" competition is held.
The effort of a cow weighing nearly 1t to seriously compete with each other is exactly the power to sweat in the hand.

Undersea observation ship "Amanbo"
The "Amanbo", an underwater observation ship, can observe the magnificent natural scenery of Oki from the ship, and the underwater observation room at the bottom of the ship shows the appearance of creatures swimming in the sea.
The glass-enclosed subsea observation room is like a large tank of water in nature. It is healed just by watching, including pufferfish and jellyfish swimming in the sea, and seaweed that sways greatly.
You can also enjoy marine sports such as diving and water skiing at "Amanbo House", which is the departure and arrival of "Amanbo".

SPOT - 08
Pulpit Falls
It is a famous waterfall of the island of Oki, which has been selected for "Japanese waterfall" and "National Meisui Hyakukyo", respectively. In the upper reaches of the Nakugawa River, a rock wall appears as if it were a series of folding screens. Two waterfalls run down, with the Tantsumo Shrine erected in its central part sandwiched. They are named male waterfall (50m high) and female waterfall (40m), respectively, and due to the different nature of the rocks in the upper and lower parts of the waterfall, the upper part has a form of exculpating, and you can also watch the water running down from the back of the waterfall. As such, Otaki is also known as "Uenami Falls".
There is also a cave by the side that enshrines the waterfall, and if you go through the approach of a huge tree-aged cedar forest, you can taste the cold and cold space even on a midsummer day. The mountain stream is home to many rare species, the salamander, and you can realize that it is a good source of water. * At present, the back of Otaki is prohibited due to the fear of falling rocks and danger.
